What I Got For Christmas 2016

Hello lovlies,

I cannot believe that Christmas was already 2 weeks ago, I can tell this year is going to go just as fast as 2016. Anyway, I love reading posts on what people got for Christmas as it gives me inspiration on what to buy other people for any upcoming birthdays or special occasions. A lot of the items I was bought for Christmas have either been put away or eaten so I have just captured the presents that I had around.

First of all is what I got from Jake. He spoilt me rotten again this year, as he always does. Without going into massive amounts of detail the present’s that he bought me are below. The most special one being the tattoo voucher, my favourite tattoo artist in Norwich works at ‘Ink Addiction’ and he had remembered the times that I’d mentioned how I’d love her to do my first tattoo.

Below were the two main presents from my parents. It makes me laugh when I think back to Christmas day and how excited I was when I opened these presents, they are such Adult things to get excited over but they are 100% the best items we could have asked for and they have absolutely transformed our apartment.

I had to show you guys this candy sushi, it was from Jake’s Nan and Grandad and I just thought it was awesome!

I was incredibly lucky this Christmas and I never take for granted how generous my friends and family are.

Let me know what you got for Christmas!

Urban Decay does Alice in Wonderland

Hey beauties,

Now I’m sure all you beauty fans out there are fully aware of this anticipated release that will be coming to the UK this month. UD junkies got the chance to order this from 1st May and from what I gather it sold out pretty quick, I live in England and that unfortunately means I don’t get access to be a UD junkie.

I’d say Urban Decay is my favourite high end beauty brand and there isn’t one product I’ve used that I’m not impressed with. When this launch got revealed I literally squealed with excitement. The packaging and the shades of both lipstick and eye shadow just got me so excited to buy this and although some shades aren’t massively wearable in the palette, I’m super excited to experiment with some colour in the Summer.

It is still unclear when this is out in the UK, however they have confirmed it will be before 27th May, when the brand new Alice in Wonderland film hits cinemas. If you’re interested in this range to then head to ‘Feel Unique’ and register to receive an email once they’re out.

I definitely want to get my hands on the eye shadow palette and ideally I’d love all the lipsticks too, however the main 2 I want to purchase are Mad Hatter (bright purple shimmer) and Alice (nude shimmer). If I don’t get my hands on any of these I’m going to be one super unhappy girl!

Do you live in the US and have gotten your hands on these already? Let me know!

A few of my favourite things: April

Hey beauties,

It’s bank holiday Monday and that time again so check out my favourites from the past month:

1. Helen Anderson’s vlogs

I love watching vlogs on youtube and recently I’ve been a daily watcher of Helen Anderson’s. She is actually from my hometown Norwich, England and we share a few mutual friends. Her vlogs are my idea of a perfect length, they usually last anything from 5-15 minutes and I would definitely recommend her to anyone who enjoys alternative, beauty and lifestyle videos.

2. Jo Malone fragrances

These are the only fragrances I’ve used that keep their scent on me all day and they’re such personal and deep fragrances. I own ‘Pomegranate Noir’ which is a dark and fruity fragrance and the new limited edition ‘Nashi Blossom’ scent which is perfect for spring, it’s fruity, fresh and has real hints of citrus in. If you’re ever in a situation where you want a new and different perfume then head straight to Jo Malone, they’re a little pricey but you will NOT be disappointed!

3.The Jungle Book

I really didn’t know what to expect from this film as beforehand I had heard it was much more action based and a couple have people had said that they thought I’d be disappointed. It’s a Disney film and I was willing to take the risk of not liking it, but oh wow I was DEFINITELY not disappointed! It still both the classic songs in there and I knew I enjoyed it because I didn’t check the time once, whereas with films I don’t think much of I’m counting down the minutes until it ends. I recommend this film to anyone, although it was a little jumpy for a PG!

4. Ikea

This is a really random and weird favourite but my fiancé works in our local Ikea and with the discount he gets I cannot get off their website. They have some really good quality, bespoke options and the new interior theme I want to go for is quite minimalistic and modern so Ikea is perfect for that.

5. Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay lipstick in Firebird

I have never come across a shade like this and it’s so gorgeous. I always used to use safe colours in lipstick until my mum told me to embrace my large lips and to start using more fun colours. This is a bold and bright fuchsia pink with strong blue undertones and a gorgeous shimmer. I’ve worn this a few times and the staying power of this is incredible. It has lasted through hours of drinking, eating and other every day activities. She has other shades so if this isn’t for you then I can guarantee one of them is.

6. Scrunchies

These are so 80’s/90’s but I am really loving them at the moment. My hair is super thick and when I’m working I much prefer it tied up and out of my way. Sometimes a pony tail just looks boring and I want to brighten up my whole look, which is where the scrunchy comes in. The two I use most both have bows on, one just plain black and the other is floral. Primark have an amazing range of them for a couple of £.

What have you been loving this month? Thanks for reading,

Look Incredible Beauty Box

Hey guys,

I’ve been wanting to sign up to a monthly beauty box for absolutely ages but didn’t want to waste money on one that wasn’t worth it. I did so much research into all the different brands, and it was actually a post I saw on here that made me choose the ‘Look Incredible’ beauty box. I received my first one this week so thought I’d talk you through what I got, I’ll also give feedback on products I’d recommend from the box once I’ve used them a few times

First of all, the packaging is simple but really luxe considering the box itself is £18.99. In the box I got 5 branded products. I also received a card which had a small paragraph on each of the products and a price on how much they would have come to if ordered on their own, for this box it was £81.99!!

The first product I saw was the ‘Laura Geller – Spackle Under eye Eye Primer’. I don’t tend to use under eye primers so I’m interested to see if this makes a difference to my skin, it does say it brightens though and I’m all up for anything that brightens.

Next was the ‘SmashBox – Blush Soft Light Duo’, I was super excited when I saw this as recently I’ve been wanting to purchase some products from the SmashBox range. This has a gorgeous pinky/champagne highlighter and a coral/pink blush. This looks like the shade blush I would usually chose so I’m hoping this lives up to my expectations.

Another product I was super excited about was the ‘Urban Decay – Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Colour’ in Adrenaline. I’ve never seen or used a lip product like this, its a chunky pencil and has so much glitter as well as pigment. I swatched this briefly on my lips and I think it would give the PERFECT look to any ‘night out’ make up look.

A product and brand that I wasn’t familiar with was the ‘Velvet 59 – My Fair Lashes’ mascara. The wand is really interesting, it has a flat side and goes in about 3/4 of the way up the wand. I’m hard to please when it comes to mascara so I’m interested to try this out.

Finally, the ‘L’oreal Paris – Nutri-Gold Silk’ day moisturiser. I tested this out on the back of my hand and it has a really thick consistency and usually I tend to avoid moisturisers like that as I don’t have the time to wait for them to dry before applying my base make up, especially before work. I do like L’oreal products, both make up and skin care so I’m hoping this is no exception.

Thank you for reading you lovely bunch. It’d be good to know what beauty boxes you guys are subscribed to and if you’ve tried any of the products I’ve received this month.

OOTD – Belated Mother’s Day Meal

Hey guys,

So last Sunday I went for a belated Mother’s day meal at Jamies Italian with all my family. I thought I’d do a post on my chosen outfit.

The grey floaty dress was £8 from Primark. I paired that with a Pretty Twisted Hamsa choker and a precious stone necklace that I received as a gift last year. I haven’t got a picture to show my footwear but I wore my black Primark suede Chelsea boots.

To add a bit of colour I chose Mac’s ‘Herione’ Matte lipstick and on my eyes I wore the Naked Palette 3. The colours: Dust, Liar and Blackheart on the outer corner.

This is a post that I haven’t tried out before so let me know what you think!

Valentines Day

Hey guys,

I don’t need a particular day for me to appreciate my fiancé but I LOVE Valentines day. I love any excuse to really celebrate your love for someone close to your heart, whether that be a friend, partner or even a family member. The main thing for me is the time you spend with each other, unfortunately my fiancé is busy at work today so I’m round my family’s celebrating my Mum’s birthday. Although me and Jake had an evening in last night with some lovely food and drink. We exchanged our presents and I thought I’d do a post on what he brought me.

He started off our evening by coming home from work with a big bunch of colourful roses and the biggest bar of Galaxy chocolate that I have ever seen. I love a romantic gesture and the flowers were just beautiful.

He had clearly been reading my blog as on my previous post, (Lust list for January) I had written some items that I was loving and planning to buy myself in the near future. Jake passed me a bag and written on the tag was ‘no longer on your lust list’, when I opened the bag I couldn’t believe what was in there, it looked like heaven! The ‘Naked 3’ palette, a Jo Malone cologne (IN POMEGRANATE NOIR!!!!) and the ‘Oils of Life’ gel face cream by The Body shop. Any girl will know that partners often blank out when you’re sitting there running on about what you want when it comes to anything girly, this is why I was so shocked that he got it SOO right!

As well as them presents he also got me a large Yankee Candle jar in the scent ‘Shea Butter’, I had recently been after a fresh smelling scent as I’m getting a bit fed up with all the sweet smells I have been purchasing. The candle he bought me is just what I was looking for, it smells like a coconut scented body butter, but I love that the smell isn’t too over powering.

The final present was a bag full of sweeties and a salted caramel hot chocolate stick, for anyone who knows me I have SUCH a sweet tooth. My favourite is anything sour and Jake must’ve gathered that as there were two paper bags full of sour balls and a tub of toxic wastes.

I had the best night with Jake and I think it’s really important to take time out of both our busy days to sit down and enjoy a night in together. To me, with days like Valentines day, its not the money you spend its the company you spend it with and I am one LUCKY girl!

Thanks for reading, what did you guys get up to this year?

Lust List of January 2016

Hey guys,

I was going to do a specific lust list for certain brands but decided there was too many things that I’m lusting over this month, these are my top 10:

1: Naked Palette #3

Now I’m probably the only person who is still collecting all of these palettes, I currently have the Basic palettes and the Smokey Eye one but the next one I’m planning on getting is the Naked Palette #3. It has some gorgeous nudes and rose gold shades which I think go best with my skin colour. The way the Urban Decay eye shadows blend is amazing and well worth the £38.00 price tag per palette.Naked Palette 3Naked Palette

2: Jo Malone Perfumes

These are some of the most long wearing colognes I have ever tried. The one I’m lusting over most is ‘Pomegranate Noir’, I sprayed this on myself in store and for the rest of the day got no end of compliments. I’d say these were on the pricey side for perfume but SO worth it, they’re priced at around £85.00 for 100ml. I’d recommend checking the vast range of scents if you haven’t already, they range from spicy, floral and even woody scents.

3: Yankee Candle Valentines and Easter Collection 2016

There is no denying that I am one of THE biggest fans of Yankee Candle, or even just candles in general. I recently went in a local store to see the new Easter and Valentines range and they have some amazing scents. For Easter they have ‘Bunny Cake’ which has previously been one of their Easter Scents, this has a sweet coconut/vanilla smell. They also have ‘Jelly Beans’ which is the most gorgeous deep purple colour, I’d say this scent was spot on, like sugary sweeties. The one in the valentines day collection that I was most amazed by was the ‘Trio Tumbler Candle’, this isn’t the usual scent I would go with but I was amazed at the look of the candle. As shown below it has three layers: buttercream, red velvet and chocolate layer cake.

4: The Body Shop (Drops of Youth and Oils of Life)

So in my previous post I explained my love for the Body Shop products and spoke about the skincare I already have. I’m now looking to purchase the rest of the ‘Drops of Youth’ and ‘Oils of Life’ ranges. The products I’m most looking forward to purchasing are the ‘Wonderblur’, ‘Youth Essence Lotion’ from the ‘Drops of Youth’ range and ‘Intensely Revitalising Gel Cream’ from ‘Oils of Life’. I think these will have a real staple effect to my daily skincare routine

5: The Happiness Planner

Out of all the 2016 I’ve seen this HAS to be my absolute favourite, I wanted it before Christmas and just totally forgot to purchase it due to being so busy getting everyone else’s presents, then when I went to purchase it they had sold out of UK stock so I’m currently waiting for them to come back online. This is on the pricey side for a planner but what I love about it is the concept. It is so easy to get sucked into busy day-to-day life and routines that sometimes you forget what is important in life and you forgot to concentrate on yourself. Even something as simple as an inspiring thought for each day and being able to write down your personal goals and highlights for each day ensures you get a little time out of the day to concentrate on whats important for you. Not to mention the GORGEOUS packaging.

6: Real Techniques Bold Metal Brushes

There are 7 brushes in this collection, not only do they look amazing but they also have no end of good reviews. The brushes they have include; arched powder, triangle foundation, tapered blush and angled liner. To buy the full collection separately you’re looking for around £100, but after previously trying some other Real Techniques brushes I think these are definitely going to be worth the money.

7: Kitchen Aid

This is something that I plan to purchase when me and my fiance buy a new house, at the moment I don’t have a massive amount of kitchen space and although I love these I have a smaller one at the moment for my baking which is a lot easier to store. Again these are quite pricey and usually retail at around £300-400. These come in some gorgeous colours and my favourite 2 are below.

8: Doc Marten’s

Now I already have a pair of black Doc Martens however there a couple of pairs I’ve seen recently which are too gorgeous not to buy. Last year they had some pastel coloured boots that I wish I had of bought so I definitely won’t be missing out on the ones below (black glitter boots and pastel pink shoes). These are super comfortable once you’ve worn them in, the only thing I struggle with is long distance walking as they are pretty heavy.

9: Foil Prints

Again these are products I’m mainly looking for when we purchase a new house. I’m a massive fan of anything copper or rose gold and I love when a house has a real homely vibe and I think these pieces really top it off. I’ve seen such a vast range of designs from something as simple as letters (e.g XO) to inspirational quotes.

10: Tanya Bakes

I guess this isn’t necessarily part of my lust list for this month because the book isn’t available to buy until 30th June 2016 however I have pre ordered it in January and I am super excited to be able to get my hands on this book. I really enjoyed baking the recipes in ‘Love Tanya’ and just some of the recipes they have announced for the upcoming book sound incredible, they include’ Rhubarb and custard muffins, Earl Grey tea loaf and Smartie flapjacks. BRING ON JUNE!

Tanya Bakes

So, there you have it, a little insight into my (hopefully) next purchases. Let me know what you’re wishing for this month!
