My skincare journey..

Good Evening beauties,

This is a post that I’m a little nervous for, but I am so impressed with my recent results that I just had to share it with you all.

I’ve never ever had good skin, for as long as I remember I have always suffered with redness, blemishes and verging on spot acne. I have been through hundreds of skin care products and the products which always used to work for me were from The Body Shop, they would clear up my skin for a while and it was almost as if they stopped having an effect on me after using them for a couple of weeks and then my skin would go back to a horrible mess. I didn’t used to take pictures of myself without make up as I hated what I saw so you’ll just have to take my word for how bad my skin was but here is what my skin looks like at the moment, it’s definitely not perfect but it is a million times better than it used to be.

After many years of trial and error, I was introduced to the Seaweed collection at The Body Shop. This has changed everything, I started to use the products on a daily basis after finding out my skin type was combination/oily and I’d had a lot of recommendations for this range.

My morning routine starts with the ‘Purifying Cleanser’ and then I use the ‘Gel Day Cream’, this day moisturiser dries so quickly so I don’t find myself having to wait for ages before I can apply my make up. My evening routine starts with the ‘Deep Cleansing Facial Wash’, followed by the ‘Oil-Control Overnight Gel’ and I use the clay mask around twice a week.

If you suffer with similar issues to me when it comes to your skin then I cannot recommend this range enough (as well as making a super special effort to drink lots of water!!!!), it’s not overly expensive and The Body Shop often have discounts floating around. Find the range here:

Skincare Suggestions, please?!

Hey lovelies,

I need your help! I recently went for a facial and the lovely lady advised me that I have combination skin. Oily forehead and cheeks and the rest of my face is relatively dry. I’ve always used a mix of skincare products, mainly The Body Shop as I’ve always got on with their natural ingredients.

I would love you to help me test out some new products that would be suitable for my skin. The lady that worked in the Spa also advised me to put a mud mask on my face once a week, does anyone know of a good natural mud mask as I’ve never purchased one before? Also I have sensitive skin, so it has to be able to work with that too!

Thank you in advance you lovely people,

Tori Moore xoxo

A few of my favourite things: March

Happy hump day to you all!

So I’ve decided I’m going to start writing a post a month dedicated to a few of my favourite things, it’ll be random products/songs/youtube channels/bloggers etc. If you’re interested in any of these products then click on the linked words to find out where they’re from.

  1. Joni Jeans @ Topshop

Now I am way too late on the Joni Jeans hype but within the last month I’ve bought three pairs; black with ripped knees, plain black and pale blue. I have never been a jean loving girl, always preferred comfy leggings and I am around 5 foot 1 so really struggle to find jeans that fit me right. These are absolutely perfect, they range from about £36-£40 and are the comfiest jeans I have ever worn, I’m hoping to have them in every colour within the next few months.

2. Rose gold necklaces

It’s no secret to any of my friends or family that I am the biggest lover of anything rose gold and recently I’ve been loving rose gold jewellery. Below are my favourite three, the two on the bottom are from Topshop and were both in the sale for £3!! The one on the top is a Kith Heath necklace and was a Christmas present from my sister and her family. The link gives a much better picture of the necklace and I think it brings gorgeous detail to any outfit.

3. Shea Butter Yankee Candle

I spoke about this scent in my candle collection post but I’ve recently been burning this a lot and realised how much I love it. I’m rubbish at describing scents but the Yankee Candle website describes it as a ‘creamy smooth scent with hints of beautiful fruit blossoms’, which I think describes it perfectly. A real refreshing and relaxing scent.

4. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick

These have been my most worn lip products of the month. I have the ‘Rose Rush’ matte shade which is a real Barbie pink colour, and ‘Pink Fling’ in the Blushed Nudes range. These are really moisturising lipsticks and all I’ve been reaching for this month. The range of colours they have is amazing, they have a colour for everyone. I would most definitely recommend these. They also have ‘buy one, get one half price’ on all Maybelline products in Superdrug at the moment so definitely worth a buy.

5. The Body Shop – Oils Of Life facial oil

I got this for Christmas and really didn’t know how I felt about putting extra oil on my skin as I always felt my skin can be relatively oily at times without adding extra to it. I had really bad skin a the start of this month and was trying all types of products to find one that even made a slight difference to my spots and blemishes. After all the products I tried, high end and drug store, this definitely came out on top. I was using it just before I went to bed and also in the mornings and it cleared my skin up amazingly.

6. PVRIS – You and I

I saw PVRIS at my local gig venue last weekend and it was actually my fourth time seeing them. I have been a massive fan ever since I saw them support ‘Lower than Atlantis’ this time last year. They have recently released a new song and I cannot get it out of my head, the chorus is so catchy and I thought I’d share it with you guys. I guarantee you’ll be humming it for days!

Let me know your favourites this month and thanks for reading,

Tori Moore xoxo

Valentines Day

Hey guys,

I don’t need a particular day for me to appreciate my fiancé but I LOVE Valentines day. I love any excuse to really celebrate your love for someone close to your heart, whether that be a friend, partner or even a family member. The main thing for me is the time you spend with each other, unfortunately my fiancé is busy at work today so I’m round my family’s celebrating my Mum’s birthday. Although me and Jake had an evening in last night with some lovely food and drink. We exchanged our presents and I thought I’d do a post on what he brought me.

He started off our evening by coming home from work with a big bunch of colourful roses and the biggest bar of Galaxy chocolate that I have ever seen. I love a romantic gesture and the flowers were just beautiful.

He had clearly been reading my blog as on my previous post, (Lust list for January) I had written some items that I was loving and planning to buy myself in the near future. Jake passed me a bag and written on the tag was ‘no longer on your lust list’, when I opened the bag I couldn’t believe what was in there, it looked like heaven! The ‘Naked 3’ palette, a Jo Malone cologne (IN POMEGRANATE NOIR!!!!) and the ‘Oils of Life’ gel face cream by The Body shop. Any girl will know that partners often blank out when you’re sitting there running on about what you want when it comes to anything girly, this is why I was so shocked that he got it SOO right!

As well as them presents he also got me a large Yankee Candle jar in the scent ‘Shea Butter’, I had recently been after a fresh smelling scent as I’m getting a bit fed up with all the sweet smells I have been purchasing. The candle he bought me is just what I was looking for, it smells like a coconut scented body butter, but I love that the smell isn’t too over powering.

The final present was a bag full of sweeties and a salted caramel hot chocolate stick, for anyone who knows me I have SUCH a sweet tooth. My favourite is anything sour and Jake must’ve gathered that as there were two paper bags full of sour balls and a tub of toxic wastes.

I had the best night with Jake and I think it’s really important to take time out of both our busy days to sit down and enjoy a night in together. To me, with days like Valentines day, its not the money you spend its the company you spend it with and I am one LUCKY girl!

Thanks for reading, what did you guys get up to this year?

Lust List of January 2016

Hey guys,

I was going to do a specific lust list for certain brands but decided there was too many things that I’m lusting over this month, these are my top 10:

1: Naked Palette #3

Now I’m probably the only person who is still collecting all of these palettes, I currently have the Basic palettes and the Smokey Eye one but the next one I’m planning on getting is the Naked Palette #3. It has some gorgeous nudes and rose gold shades which I think go best with my skin colour. The way the Urban Decay eye shadows blend is amazing and well worth the £38.00 price tag per palette.Naked Palette 3Naked Palette

2: Jo Malone Perfumes

These are some of the most long wearing colognes I have ever tried. The one I’m lusting over most is ‘Pomegranate Noir’, I sprayed this on myself in store and for the rest of the day got no end of compliments. I’d say these were on the pricey side for perfume but SO worth it, they’re priced at around £85.00 for 100ml. I’d recommend checking the vast range of scents if you haven’t already, they range from spicy, floral and even woody scents.

3: Yankee Candle Valentines and Easter Collection 2016

There is no denying that I am one of THE biggest fans of Yankee Candle, or even just candles in general. I recently went in a local store to see the new Easter and Valentines range and they have some amazing scents. For Easter they have ‘Bunny Cake’ which has previously been one of their Easter Scents, this has a sweet coconut/vanilla smell. They also have ‘Jelly Beans’ which is the most gorgeous deep purple colour, I’d say this scent was spot on, like sugary sweeties. The one in the valentines day collection that I was most amazed by was the ‘Trio Tumbler Candle’, this isn’t the usual scent I would go with but I was amazed at the look of the candle. As shown below it has three layers: buttercream, red velvet and chocolate layer cake.

4: The Body Shop (Drops of Youth and Oils of Life)

So in my previous post I explained my love for the Body Shop products and spoke about the skincare I already have. I’m now looking to purchase the rest of the ‘Drops of Youth’ and ‘Oils of Life’ ranges. The products I’m most looking forward to purchasing are the ‘Wonderblur’, ‘Youth Essence Lotion’ from the ‘Drops of Youth’ range and ‘Intensely Revitalising Gel Cream’ from ‘Oils of Life’. I think these will have a real staple effect to my daily skincare routine

5: The Happiness Planner

Out of all the 2016 I’ve seen this HAS to be my absolute favourite, I wanted it before Christmas and just totally forgot to purchase it due to being so busy getting everyone else’s presents, then when I went to purchase it they had sold out of UK stock so I’m currently waiting for them to come back online. This is on the pricey side for a planner but what I love about it is the concept. It is so easy to get sucked into busy day-to-day life and routines that sometimes you forget what is important in life and you forgot to concentrate on yourself. Even something as simple as an inspiring thought for each day and being able to write down your personal goals and highlights for each day ensures you get a little time out of the day to concentrate on whats important for you. Not to mention the GORGEOUS packaging.

6: Real Techniques Bold Metal Brushes

There are 7 brushes in this collection, not only do they look amazing but they also have no end of good reviews. The brushes they have include; arched powder, triangle foundation, tapered blush and angled liner. To buy the full collection separately you’re looking for around £100, but after previously trying some other Real Techniques brushes I think these are definitely going to be worth the money.

7: Kitchen Aid

This is something that I plan to purchase when me and my fiance buy a new house, at the moment I don’t have a massive amount of kitchen space and although I love these I have a smaller one at the moment for my baking which is a lot easier to store. Again these are quite pricey and usually retail at around £300-400. These come in some gorgeous colours and my favourite 2 are below.

8: Doc Marten’s

Now I already have a pair of black Doc Martens however there a couple of pairs I’ve seen recently which are too gorgeous not to buy. Last year they had some pastel coloured boots that I wish I had of bought so I definitely won’t be missing out on the ones below (black glitter boots and pastel pink shoes). These are super comfortable once you’ve worn them in, the only thing I struggle with is long distance walking as they are pretty heavy.

9: Foil Prints

Again these are products I’m mainly looking for when we purchase a new house. I’m a massive fan of anything copper or rose gold and I love when a house has a real homely vibe and I think these pieces really top it off. I’ve seen such a vast range of designs from something as simple as letters (e.g XO) to inspirational quotes.

10: Tanya Bakes

I guess this isn’t necessarily part of my lust list for this month because the book isn’t available to buy until 30th June 2016 however I have pre ordered it in January and I am super excited to be able to get my hands on this book. I really enjoyed baking the recipes in ‘Love Tanya’ and just some of the recipes they have announced for the upcoming book sound incredible, they include’ Rhubarb and custard muffins, Earl Grey tea loaf and Smartie flapjacks. BRING ON JUNE!

Tanya Bakes

So, there you have it, a little insight into my (hopefully) next purchases. Let me know what you’re wishing for this month!
