An explanation and my new year goals…

Hello loves,

So 3 months ago I composed a post saying how I was back and would stop being slack and just concentrate on uploading my blog posts once a week etc. Well you guessed it, shit hit the fan again and unfortunately the end part of my year wasn’t a great one.

Last night I laid in bed chatting with my fiancé and realised how much I missed writing blog posts and also reading blogs. It gave me a real hobby and was giving me a chance to sit down, even for 20 minutes, and have some real me time and just get lost into reviewing a product or reading a blog post about something I am really interested in. So I’ve decided that I really want to concentrate on my blog this year and get it out to as many people as possible. I’m giving it a real makeover and I hope the current followers I have can support me in getting up and running again.

I’m not a massive one for new years resolution as I am a big believer that you shouldn’t wait for one single day of the year to pledge the ‘new year, new me’ idea, however this year I have given myself a few points to focus on and here they are:

  • Don’t get sucked into the drama/gossip and avoid anyone giving off them negative vibes
  • Don’t rely on anyone to make yourself happy – you’re the only one that can look after yourself properly
  • Get the decor sorted in our new apartment!! (WHY IS ALL THE HOMEWARE I LIKE SOO EXPENSIVE?!)
  • Start putting money away to organise holidays and weekends away

I’d love to hear what goals you’ve given yourself this year!

Thanks for reading and I promise I won’t be this shit again,

L’oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Masque Review

Hey guys,

Thought I’d do a quick mid week review. I recently received a tester of the ‘L’oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Masque Pre Shampoo Treatment’ in the latest Cosmopolitan magazine. My hair usually gets greasy around 2 days after a wash so I don’t suffer massively with really oily hair however I was really interested to see how this works. I used it yesterday and thought I’d let you know how I got on.

L'Oreal-Extraordinary-Clay-3

Now I have super thick and long hair so the sample I got didn’t go too far. It was a pale blue, thick, creamy texture and dried up only a few second from leaving the packet. I placed it straight onto dry roots (as instructed) and left for 5 minutes, rinsed out and carried on with my normal hair washing routine.

The minute I rinsed this out I felt a difference, my roots felt really conditioned and a lot lighter but I feel like I need to purchase a full size product and use it a few more times before I can make a decision on whether it makes a long term difference.

Let me know what you think if you’ve tried this product!

What posts do you like reading?

Evening beauts,

This post isn’t anything in particular, it’s more of a question for you guys. I love writing on this blog and it’s something I look forward to doing every week. Sitting down with my cuppa and laptop and just tapping away on the keys for hours!

I feel my posts are getting a little random and as much as I love writing about anything and everything, I just want to know what sort of things you like reading.

Are reviews on products helpful to you? Or do you like more personal ‘how I spent my weekend’ type posts. I’m also thinking of starting to do a few favourites a month so you can see what I’m loving. Please let me know below,

Thank you!

Miss Sporty: Review

Hey guys,

A couple of weeks ago I purchased my first lot of Miss Sporty products in their 3 for £5 promotion. In the blog post I said I’d use the products for a week or so and then give my review, so here it is…

First for the ‘Perfect Stay 10 Hour Liquid Concealer’, I really like the texture of this concealer, really creamy and I think it does the job on blemishes, however I don’t like how little choice there is with colours, I believe there is just a light and dark colour and the light colour is definitely not as light as I normally go for. I like a light concealer to really give a brightening effect under my eyes however this doesn’t do that. For the price and putting solely on blemishes, I would recommend. If you’re looking for a highlighting concealer then this is not the one you want.

I also purchased the ‘Fabulous Eyes Glossy Shadow’ in the shade Peanut butter. I think this was my favourite out of all three products. It has a really creamy texture and blends well, they have various shades and I actually think this product gives the ‘Rosie for Autograph’ eye shadow stick a run for its money. This is a definite recommendation from me.

Finally, the ‘Instant Lip Colour and Shine’ stick in a deep pink/red. I used this nearly every day for a solid week or so and I LOVE it, the texture is so moisturising and I struggle a lot with dry and chapped lips so this was perfect. I forgot to reapply for a few hours but even when taking a look at it, it still had a gorgeous even colour over the lips. I do want to get this in a different, more neutral colour as I didn’t realise it would be this pigmented and be such a bold colour. There are 5 different shades to chose from, including a couple of plum colours, a nude and a deep brown.

Here is a picture with all three products on and here is the link to my initial reactions to the products: https://torimoorexblog.wordpress.com/2016/03/23/miss-sporty-3-for-5/

If any of you have these products then let me know what you thought of them,

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Heya!

For anyone who saw my ‘Mini Superdrug Haul’ you would have seen I purchased the Lash Sensational mascara by Maybelline and I’d heard such good things about it.

I’ve been using this for about a week and I am so impressed, my holy grail mascara was Benefit Rollerlash and I wasn’t sure I’d ever find another mascara that worked as well as on my lashes. Lash sensational has a similar applicator however it has a different length bristles which makes it a lot easier to get to the root of the eye lashes. The formula is amazing too, jet black and thick enough to add volume as well as length.

For £7 I am so glad I tried this mascara out and I can tell it won’t be leaving my make up bag for a long while.

Let me know if you guys have found any similar mascaras that you think work as well as this one.

Thanks for reading,

Blogging has begun..

Blogging is one of these things that I’ve loved the concept of but never thought it was something I was capable of doing, there is only one way to find out and that’s by giving it a go. So I’m Vicky and welcome to my blog! You may be confused as to the difference in names from both this blog and my actual name, since a very young age I was always nicknamed ‘Tori Moore’ by my Dad and when dwelling on what to call this blog I felt like it was the perfect name to roll with.

Just to give you an idea of whether this will be your cup of tea or not, on this page you’ll find posts on crafts, beauty, candles (because, who doesn’t love candles), fashion, skin care, reviews and I’m pretty sure there will be a few random posts as well. Most importantly, in 2017 I’m getting married and even though its over a year away I am totally overwhelmed by the planning process. I was planning to write a few posts on what has helped me with the planning and just general wedding chat and tips.

Feel free to follow me on Twitter and Instagram @vickykennedyx or @torimooreblogs.
