Home Decor – Spring 2017

Hello lovlies,

Ever since we’ve moved into our new apartment I have taken such an interest into home decor. With Spring on it’s way, I thought there would be no better way to welcome it than to do a blog post on some dream products that I dream to add to my living area. All the items I have written about below are from Arhaus.com – check out their living room page, it’s guarantee to inspire you – https://www.arhaus.com/furniture/living-room-furniture/?icn=main-living&ici=nav-living

From my wardrobe full of clothes to my make up looks, I love monochrome and I think that when it comes to home decor, monochrome looks very classy and on trend. However, I have an incredibly bubbly personality and I like that to reflect in my home decor for when my friends and family come over. See below for my top picks from Arhaus.com, following my dream of monochrome, with pops of colour.

I think this sofa is my favourite product I’ve added to this post. Not only is it the most gorgeous peachy pink colour – it’s also a crushed velvet material and that texture really adds something extra to the room.

Another trend that I am loving is metals. Any metal from copper to gold, however it is important that you stick to one metal in a room, if you have silver, copper and gold all in one room it can look really strange. This table is perfect, it fits in so nice with the sofa and brings a touch of contemporary to the room.

I believe that what really makes a house a home, is wall art. Now these won’t be to everyones taste however I have completely fallen in love with these gorgeous art pieces. They really mix in well with the monochrome trend, yet are just mesmerising to look at.

Finally – this candle is so up my street, I have a very similar ornament to this at home and it is a piece that everyone comments on when they walk through the door, it is such a unique piece and adds a bit of grunge to the decor.

Favourite of the Week: Don Broco -Everybody

Hello lovelies,

Hope you’ve all had an awesome week, I wanted to write a quick post on my favourite of this week. I have not stopped listening to this song and had to find away to share it with everyone.

Don Broco are known for their alternative music, their songs can range from funk, alternative rock through to post-hardcore. I honestly believe there is a song for everyone and it’s such feel good music.

The most recent song is ‘Everybody’, which has been released just before their upcoming tour, which I have the excitement of attending in a couple of weeks. There is not much I can say about the song other than you HAVE to listen to it for yourself. Here is the link to the youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6JZ6IgCKKo

Favourite of the week – Barry M Lip Oil

Hello lovlies,

So my favourite of this week is the new Barry M Lip Oil, especially the ‘Berry Good’ edition. It has Raspberry and Pomegranate oils in to moisturise and condition the lips. I was very sceptical at first buying this as I have a hatred towards sticky lip products, but for £5 I didn’t have much to lose.

I was so impressed at the consistency of these lip products, they are a thick oil but feel really nourishing on the lips AND they’re not sticky!! The colour pay off is probably the one thing I would criticise as I can barely notice the berry tones on my lips, but I usually only wear this when I’m chilling around the house anyway, so the lack of colour isn’t too much of an issue. I also wanted to mention the applicator on these, it twists round whilst you’re applying it to your lips. At first I thought it was a little pointless but after using it a few times I do think it has helped apply the oil.

The smell really reminds me of the ‘I Love… Raspberry and Blackberry Shower and Bath Creme’, a really scrummy berry scent.

I’d definitely give this a try if you can. A really good dupe for the Clarins lip oil and for a quarter of the price!

Favourite of the week – Not Everything Sucks

Hey guys,

I haven’t done a favourite of the week in a while so thought I’d write a quick post on a stand out fashion item I’ve recently retrieved from the wardrobe. I used to use this tote bag a lot, but like many of my other bags, it then got chucked to the back of the wardrobe until recently where I found it up. I really like wearing this to make an outfit a little more edgy.

The saying ‘Not Everything Sucks’ is one I really love and stand by. I have it on a mug, pin badge and obviously the tote bag, all with the same logo. I also have a sticker of it on the back of my phone to be reminded of my favourite saying whilst out and about.

The design is by a company called ‘Abandon Ship’ and you get 15% off when you sign up to their mailing list. They have so many different products and ranges and some of the ‘Not Everything sucks’ products are still available online.

Let me know your favourites this week/month

Favourite of the week – Views by Drake

Hey hey,

Since about 2010 I have been a MASSIVE fan of Drake and I even won a competition to meet him on his tour bus when he came to the UK in 2011. There have been a couple of mixtape releases over the past couple of years that I haven’t been loving but I was highly anticipating the release of his new album ‘Views from the six’ and OH WOW it did not disappoint!

It was kinda hard to listen to all 20 songs at first, as I usually pick a few I like and over listen to them but I made it a task to make sure I listened to each song before I started over playing them. I can honestly say, in my opinion, there isn’t a bad song on the album. It really brings me back to the Take Care and Thank me Later days and I cannot stop listening to it. I still don’t know my favourite song, other than the ones he’s already released of course! I want to give them all a listen another few times before I pick a fave.

If you just want to give the album a listen but you’re not keen on purchasing it then ‘Apple Music’ do a three month free trial, sign up to that and see what you think of the album. If you’re a fan of Drake then there is no way you won’t not like this album.

What music are you guys playing at the minute?

A few of my favourite things: April

Hey beauties,

It’s bank holiday Monday and that time again so check out my favourites from the past month:

1. Helen Anderson’s vlogs

I love watching vlogs on youtube and recently I’ve been a daily watcher of Helen Anderson’s. She is actually from my hometown Norwich, England and we share a few mutual friends. Her vlogs are my idea of a perfect length, they usually last anything from 5-15 minutes and I would definitely recommend her to anyone who enjoys alternative, beauty and lifestyle videos.

2. Jo Malone fragrances

These are the only fragrances I’ve used that keep their scent on me all day and they’re such personal and deep fragrances. I own ‘Pomegranate Noir’ which is a dark and fruity fragrance and the new limited edition ‘Nashi Blossom’ scent which is perfect for spring, it’s fruity, fresh and has real hints of citrus in. If you’re ever in a situation where you want a new and different perfume then head straight to Jo Malone, they’re a little pricey but you will NOT be disappointed!

3.The Jungle Book

I really didn’t know what to expect from this film as beforehand I had heard it was much more action based and a couple have people had said that they thought I’d be disappointed. It’s a Disney film and I was willing to take the risk of not liking it, but oh wow I was DEFINITELY not disappointed! It still both the classic songs in there and I knew I enjoyed it because I didn’t check the time once, whereas with films I don’t think much of I’m counting down the minutes until it ends. I recommend this film to anyone, although it was a little jumpy for a PG!

4. Ikea

This is a really random and weird favourite but my fiancé works in our local Ikea and with the discount he gets I cannot get off their website. They have some really good quality, bespoke options and the new interior theme I want to go for is quite minimalistic and modern so Ikea is perfect for that.

5. Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay lipstick in Firebird

I have never come across a shade like this and it’s so gorgeous. I always used to use safe colours in lipstick until my mum told me to embrace my large lips and to start using more fun colours. This is a bold and bright fuchsia pink with strong blue undertones and a gorgeous shimmer. I’ve worn this a few times and the staying power of this is incredible. It has lasted through hours of drinking, eating and other every day activities. She has other shades so if this isn’t for you then I can guarantee one of them is.

6. Scrunchies

These are so 80’s/90’s but I am really loving them at the moment. My hair is super thick and when I’m working I much prefer it tied up and out of my way. Sometimes a pony tail just looks boring and I want to brighten up my whole look, which is where the scrunchy comes in. The two I use most both have bows on, one just plain black and the other is floral. Primark have an amazing range of them for a couple of £.

What have you been loving this month? Thanks for reading,

Bags for every occasion!

Hello lovlies,

I’m usually not a massive bag person but recently I haven’t been able to get enough of them. I wanted to do a post on my current favourites, ranging from smart to quirky. Before showing you the bags I own, I wanted to show you the bag that’s top on my wishlist at the moment, although I have a feeling it’s going to be there for a while when it comes with a £1,465 price tag. The bag I’m referring to is the ‘Givenchy – Antigona Sugar medium bag’ in ‘Pearl Grey’. Heart eyes for days!

Onto my bags, the first one I wanted to talk about is a newbie. My mum bought this for me from Accessorise for £35, I saw it and had to have it. I don’t usually go quirky with bags but I absolutely loved the colour and style on this one. I think it adds so much fun with any outfit. They had so many more designs so if this particular one isn’t your taste but you’re looking for a quirky, out there bag, then you’re sure to find one you like in their latest releases.

This bag is something a little different to what I normally go for as well, I don’t tend to use backpacks that much but always loved how they look. I saw this one in Primark in the sale for £5. It sits really nicely on the shoulders and I’m really glad I went out of my comfort zone and bought it. It’s the perfect size and I’ll definitely be using it for V Festival later this year.

The final bag is one I’ve been using a lot recently, I used to own so many bags like this a few years ago and ended up getting rid of them all. I saw this in the Forever 21 sale and it’s the perfect size to fit everything I take to work. Another reason I love this bag is the colour, I LOVE pastel anything at the moment so that was another reason behind the purchase, never mind the ridiculously cheap price tag of £6.

Do you have any bags in your current wish list?
